2009 Events & Happenings

Yeah, 2008 is over, 2009 is going to be great, Below is a list of exciting events we are planning on doing throughout the season, so please e-mail or call if interested.

  • May 7th:  Hanging Baskets, Combinations, Annuals & Perennial

  • May 10th:  Mothers Day

  • April - November:  Cribbage Sundays

    Every Sunday come down to the farm at 5:00 and we will teach or challenge you to our favorite game… cribbage, as our Grandfather taught us.

  • May - October:  Giant Atlantic Dill Pumpkin Growing Contest

    We have started the seeds for this contest in our greenhouse April 21st, and are offering the plants for free, all we request is that you plant them, care for them and then bring your largest pumpkin back for a weigh-in..  We will then see who grew the largest, heaviest pumpkin.

    (6 plants maximum)

  • May - October:  Landscaping Talents

    So many of our customers are do-it yourselfers that we want to highlight their amazing projects.  Please send, give, or e-mail pictures of your remarkable home projects and clearly describe what was used of ours… loam, mulch, plants, or all of the above and we will post them to our website. 

    Examples: raised beds, hanging baskets, vegetables, walkways, patios, pools, etc.

  • July - October:  Vegetable Oddities

    Mother Nature has a funny side... have you ever seen a 3 eared ear of corn,  a misshapen tomato, or a double summer squash, well we want your vegetable oddities.  Please send, give, or e-mail pictures of your vegetable oddity.

  • August 7th - 9th:  Kingston Days

  • October:  Pumpkins

  • October:  Pumpkin Carving Contest &Weigh Off (See Above)

    Your talents never cease to amaze us!

    Carve your best carving and for the little ones, paint you best painting for this contest.  We just ask you use our pumpkins and you do the work. Send us your pictures, or bring us your carved pumpkin and people will vote on their favorite ones.

    Also, those Dill Atlantic pumpkin plants we gave you, bring in your largest Dill Atlantic pumpkin and see how you compare to other amateur gardeners in the area.

  • December:  Christmas Tree Decorating Contest 

    Please send, give, or e-mail us a picture of your Christmas tree decorated. We ask that you send one of our tree of course and people will vote on their favorite ones.

  •
